I'd like you to recommend some strings for my new viola, particularly since you've played it yourself and have a good feel for what would be best for it.

Well just because I've played it doesn't give me a clue to how it would sound with different strings but I am guessing that Zyex would really give it a boost in quality and sound. Unfortunately not that cheap.

I'm going to be receiving to electric violins soon to test. The Barcus Berry and Meisel Spitfire. Both of which are accoustic electric though I am not sure about the Meisel.
Below is a picture of it in any case. I'll contact Yamaha to see about a demo. I do have a distributor for them, just never bothered putting them on FiddlerShop.com

WOW! That is a beautiful. When you say acoustic electric, does that literally mean you can play it regular like an acoustic, but ALSO plug it in and playing through an amp? Or, is it just a style. Prob a dumb question, I assume it means it can be played both ways, but I just wanted to be sure. How much do these run?. lol
