Hi, I have 2 violins I need to sell for a friend of mine and having trouble finding appraisers nearby.  Is this the proper place to just post and get offers in the sale section, would people be able to tell from the photos?  Of course I would be glad to answer any questions as well.  Any alternate suggestions are welcome, thanks!

PS. This is south FL.

Hey Jay,

I moved the topic to a more appropriate place but it really doesn't matter to much.

Most likely we cannot give you an accurate idea of its value but we can tell you what we think. Post pictures and let us know what the label says inside the violin. Also, how much does your friend want for the instruments and how much did he or she pay or where did he get them from? Why are you selling them for him? Do you play, does he or she play?

Hi and thanks for the reply... my friend doesnt play anymore, it was just for school.  I think they said they got it for a few hundred dolars several years ago.

I posted the pics here, let me know if u can see anything, thanks!

Because you can pick up similar new violins and outfits for around $100 I would say $50. This one is quite scratched up.

For top dollar I would give Ebay a shot. One never knows.
