Well Mark, I ran into trouble on note #4. Watching the video, I thought her bow was going to start on fire. I think I'll wait for the Fiddlerman tutorial to come out on this one!

This is actually very true!
I have two cello cases, hard and soft. I seldom use that hard case because it’s too heavy and difficult to carry and it has really bad shoulder straps. So that soft one is much more comfortable for me, it doesn’t weigh so much. I will invest to a good case when it’s time to buy my very own cello too. 😊

@Grandpafiddle - That reminds me of a viola joke.

Did you hear about the viola player who claimed that he could play 16th notes?

No one believed him so he was forced to prove it.

He played one!!!

Personally, I think Violists get a bad rap,

but hey - everyone's fair game!

I teeter between playing a small Viola and a Violin, with my 5-string...

🤔 so maybe I'm not completely immune to ridicule.

Sometimes I feel like people think I'm just not playing a "real" Violin

OR a "real" Viola.

It doesn't really matter

because at least I'm playing music!

Funny thing about the "geetar": on two different occasions I've been complimented on my cello playing. I don't play the cello. Note that this means they actually saw me playing the viola, not just carrying a viola case.

I also once had a guy at the airport see me carrying my viola case and ask me if I played trombone professionally.

😄 Yeah, cello is really fun to play. One funny thing our teacher taught to my daughter very early was how to make the cello sound like the subway in Helsinki. 🤣

@Ilona -

Think Nikolaus Herdieckerhoff (Cellolitis) played a wonderful conversation with his 100 year-old Cello, "Umbra", but I might enjoy listening to you play "Helsinki Subway sounds", even more! 😄

I also found this, "Cello Practice Frustration" (Garrett Adam Clay) - even I can relate to it. 🤭

Found this one for Violin (Finn's Violin).

And one for Viola (Viola King)!

Guess we all have something in common. 🙄😏

BTW, forgive me if these have been previously posted(?)

Happy Easter!

- What a great kid and loving Mom! 🥰

Very relieved my Brother never had a trombone in the house while we were growing up. 🤭

The trombonists mom might have occasional regrets to allowing her son to play the trombone. LOL

I'm reminded of Richard Strauss's advice to young conductors: "Never look at the trombones, it only encourages them."

I'm sure that's why no one talks to me,

here at home,

while I'm playing.

...they're afraid I'll say,

"Oh, Thank you!"

- if they say anything polite.

Cause it's always followed by,

"here... let me play you another!"
