Anyone for Schradieck 1 Cricket?
The rules are simple:
- 8 bows = 1 over. Use any method for counting; perhaps a pedometer on your tapping foot.
- Bow as slowly as you can consistent with acceptable tone.
- Count the number of complete runs of half the first measure (A - E - B).
- Incomplete run (out of hair!) = OUT: bow direction can only change after the descending B.
- Tone stops = OUT. Be diligent; set your standard high.
- Be critical about intonation; do not count 'unsatisfactory' runs.
How many runs can you score in an over?
There is plenty of scope for extending the play into the rest of the etude since repeating the first measure may get more than a little 'old' in a short time. Perhaps an adaptation of baseball, with the phrases re-cast as 'bases'?
We could even drive each other mad with Skype Schradieck Cricket matches.

Every summer I get a lot of crickets on my patio ;),
or is this the wireless company that advertises on this side of the pond?
I've been seeing a LOT of this game being played on my TV over the last several months, but it's from somewhere else, not Texas
Well that's my hat trick......
and after all Schradieck? How 'bout rugby Mazas or curling Seitz?
Hope you're doing well.

Heh!
Thanks, @Bob - for what it's worth, I'm finding @Fiddlerman's etudes challenging enough.
We're doing okay at the moment, we haven't reached the steep part of the pandemic curve yet.
