I found a mention of Aldi's having a violin for sale for $99 back in 2011 on one of "those other forums".   Followed immediately, of course by the usual grumping about "VSOs" by the usual bunch of people that hadn't ever played or held the instrument in question.

I just find it amusing, since Aldi's is one of my favourite grocery stores, and they sometimes do have other merch that is of interest and of reasonable quality for the price.

 

Sounds like you got a good one, in any case.  For 32$, I don't see how anyone could pass it up.
