If you're on Facebook and you haven't heard of it, it is a searchable music app that allows you to listen to entire albums, make playlists you can play any time, and likewise allows you to share playlists or songs with other FB friends who have Spotify (or not- ha!). The selection is fabulous- the latest albums, plus older and vintage music, in every genre imaginable! There are a few commercials on the free service, but for all the excellent music you get to hear, that in some cases you wouldn't get to hear elsewhere, it is worth the occasional commercial. So far, there is very little I cannot find, and I enjoy playing along (:
I don't think they have it for Ubuntu/Linux yet, which is a bummer, but I'm sure the Launchpad folks are working on a version.

You don't need Facebook for Spotify Cat.
There are no login options besides FB - they will let you create a new FB account, but not log in any other way. FB has caused some major problems in my house and I refuse to be a part of it.

I am not a huge fan of Facebook either. They have Twitter access too.

You got a point, MGN.
I don't blame you. However, are you sure that it is FB that caused the problems?????
FB itself isn't the problem, it's the way some people use it to stir up bad feelings - people will say things online that they would never say in person, getting some kind of thrill (I assume, or they're just a**holes) out of watching the ensuing train wreck.
