That was the comment that came from a friend while I was looking at sheet music for a Merle Haggard song while she was here.
My response? "Like hell I don't!"
Then I proceeded to print the sheet, study the notes for a bit and hit the strings. I dumbfounded her. Her high-horse crashed and she has only been back to my house once in the past two weeks. Guess I can't call her a friend, eh?
Anyone else had a similar experience or friends/family that just aren't supportive of your playing?

yea... i was a metal head guitarist. when people that heard me play then hear what i'm trying now, they are dumbfounded and ask what i'm thinking.
a couple of weeks ago i got with one of my rock groups and told them we could only play accoustic. (never would have came out of my mouth before). they were astounded, but now are refusing to do the accoustic thing and expect me to know a song before we get together.
at least it pushes me to learn faster

"Fiddler's Anonymous" where the begineers get together to play.
Ha-Ha! XD COOL!
I used to play violin in a ravine behind the graveyard at the beginning !LOL! /sounds much gloomier than it is in reality / Because nobody wanted to hear me playing "this thing" in the house. Ah funny times =)
