I don't know how many folks were watching St. Patrick's Day parades today, but I watched several.
Fell in love with a tune that wasn't played during a parade today, but instead - was played in the end credits of the broadcasting!
I don't recognize it, but maybe SOMEONE will(?)
...I'd love to know the name.
It was at the end of the NBC New York City broastcast - I've started the video where the tune begins...
Anyone know the tune's name?

@stringy -
Thanks for trying!
Can't do it this minute, but will have to record the sound off the video (pita to try to learn it off here, anyway).
...wish I could tell if it's a version of one of many possible common tunes, but I'm sure I'll feel stupid for not knowing what it is (usually the case).

Im wondering what it is too now. it almost sounds like something original for the broadcast maybe. but honestly i have no idea. ive never heard it. i do know i can play star of county down by memory so unless their version is another version i dont hear that one. and i searched for fighting 69th and hear what ypure saying.SEE BELOW....that tune IS the melody for star of county down... i just dont hear that in the broadcast tune.

Wow, some really great thoughts on this tune - thank you!
I had kinda ruled out a march, but that track in post #10 is pretty convincing!
Been feeling it might be a schottis/schottise, or slide... which struck me odd, but think it's why the tune caught my ear.
Still like to know more & who played it for the parade credits... but not bad enough to try to get info from NBC New York.
If anyone is interested, here's the audio (slowed down AND regular) - the OP video does cut off the end with advertizing.

Yes, I agree! It definitely does sound like a Morris Dance tune!!!
Feels like some 'skipping' vs marching.
@Mouse & @ABitRusty
Really appreciate your thoughts on this tune & hope you'll let me know if you do run across it, or someone else playing it.
The tune IS played in the beginning credits, too - thanks for pointing that out, Mouse! I came upon the parade after it started, but going back to the beginning I don't hear where it's played by the 69th Guard Battalion in NYC.
...pretty catchy tune, isn't it?
