I too liked the shoutbox the way it was but it caused the crash and hundreds of errors before that. It was also very much responsible for poor performance here on the site.

I can select the features that I want to have on for the Comet-chat. Probably would choose not to use video though it doesn't use bandwidth from the site apparently, uses peer to peer instead. Also it can be set up to not take any valuble space on fiddlerman unless the user chooses to have it as a popout window.

Run peer to peer if there is no loading FM server could be very useful for members to help each other out on the fly. I would limit this to private chat rooms so folks don't keep trying to start video chat all the time when you are just sat in chat.

 True, I will have to look at the settings very carefully. This plugin is extremely flexible. Not sure yet that I want this feature either, though I was thinking of having free master classes on-line sometime in the near future.

I would disable this, I wouldn't want to be liable for any possible abuse.

This actually costs an additional amount of money plus some kind of monthly fee in which I have no need or desire for at this time.

Hand writing:

Very clunky and likely to just be used to draw body parts by random visitors. I would turn it off.

Yes please, it does seem a bit slow to change txt into smilies though..

Hopefully the free updates for a year will correct the speed thing.

Write in your language:

I see this as a very helpful tool, however I would only allow it in private chat rooms as it could make the main chat very messy and disjointed.

I don't know if you noticed but there was a translate this page icon to the left which can be great for those who don't speak English. They can use fiddlerman.com more if they discover this feature. Also, I tested the feature with Juan and I was able to write in Russian and Chinese on the fly. Very cool.

Send a file:

Again I would probably turn this off as it could be abused.

On one hand yes but on the other hand, we can send each other sheetmusic, audio files..... Can be extremely handy.

Whiteboard:

Quite responsive in comparison to the hand write function, could be fun for private chat, but the public one would just end up full of genitalia so I would turn it off

Somehow I'm not sure that many of us have the need to draw genitalia, it might be because you just had a baby But seriously, I agree that this one is not needed. I do however imagine, in my mind, Mad_Wed (for example) drawing an example of a bow hold or strengthening exercise or something creative and making great use of it.

Collaborative Document:

Again probably only good for private chat.

I think I would just have it on a pop link from the main page because as others have said already it is quite big . This is good in some ways as you can keep it on screen as you scroll through the forum. But on the other hand it means you will not see it straight away as you login and could forget to open it/miss something.

I think this is customizable. I believe I can choose to have the default open automatically and set the width myself in the settings and keep it to the far right. I am hoping I can set the sound to be on as default but allow the user to turn it off. That way people know when there is a new message.

I also like the announcement board or window or whatever it's called.
