Davy Crockett and the "Devil's Box" - Fiddling with History

New to me, never read any reference in stories, or saw any fiddling in old films about him (that I remember)... but didn't watch "The Alamo" (2004) - here's a scene of Davy Crockett's fiddling from the film. 

Billy Bob Thorton played Davy - the music was actually played by Craig Eastman. 

Craig Eastman is a multi-instrumentalist and composer, his writing and playing featured on many films including Black Hawk Down, Pirates of the Carribean, Brokeback Mountain. He has recorded with artists ranging from Elton John to Ray Charles, Hans Zimmer, T Bone Burnett, Steve Martin.
