Der Rahmen is German for frame or setting, in this case the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence they performed in and, more specifically, its council chamber.
The Vienna Phil's New Years Day concerts are televised too. The music is always the same - Strauss and a few other things, but they always have an interesting and varied film/ballet sequence in the middle which I quite like watching. I set my timer up to 6 months in advance for it. Speaking as an ex-oboist, though, I can't get used to those Viennese oboes they appear to be compelled to play. And, if you are interested, I think the Vienna Phil was the last orchestra in Europe to admit women. Feb 1997 - that late, says AI. You can sort of see the history when you watch it - half of the orchestra is old men. The rest is younger men and about 5 women.
I was hoping my bluff wouldn't get called, but this picture supports my glibness

1995 European Concert
I liked the selections that I heard in the 1995 European Concert that I just watched. A lot of times a philharmonic will play pieces that are just too busy and I cannot enjoy the pure loveliness of the sound, notice notes, rhythms, melodies. What was played in the last half hour was fabulous.
Let me see if I can backtrack and catch where it lists what was played.
This is what it listed, I don't know what I heard:
Im Rahmen Des
from the
58. Maggio Musicale Fiorentino
Aus dem
from the
du
Palazzo Vecchio
Salone dei Cinqhecento
FIRENZE
The above is how it looked in the credits. Might mean something to those of you who are more familiar with classical than I am. I just listen to some for enjoyment.
There was a soloist, whom I did not see in the last half hour, Sarah Chang.

Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (literally Florence Musical May) is an annual music festival in Florence that lasts from late April to early June.
I was able to find the program for this concert by searching for Sarah Chang and 1995 Maggio Musicale Fiorentino:

The orchestra was the Berlin Philharmonic, which also explains the title "European Concert." The Europakonzert (European Concert) is the Berlin Philharmonic's annual May 1 concert abroad, played at historic venues in Europe outside Germany. Their 1995 Europakonzert was played at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
