So, teacher... if I need to hit the high D 3rd finger on the A string, should I increase the dwell time on the number 7 servo or will the auto-tracking feature on my arm/hand relay board take care of that?

I don't care how much he's worth, he ain't touching my Strad!  confused

Oh, if you add up all the man-hours to design, build, test, program, and polish... I'm sure you'd be way over the required 10,000 hours for a professional player. LOL

oh I do... I saw this when it first came out... I'm actually impressed when it (or he or she or whatever) walks on stage!

Now that's some kinda CPU and feedback loops. Hope they didn't load WINDOWS on that one...

There are some people that always worry about being replaced by robots.  But the fact of the matter is that the cheapest and most effective "machine" is a human being, because we can be overworked and underpaid and replaced easily at the drop of a hat.  Robots would have an awful long way to go before they would be as cost effective or adaptable.

Personally, I find that robot playing violin to be a good example of a mis-use of technology.  When they were goofing around programming or building it or showing it off, it could have gone in to do the things that had to be done during something like the Fukushima reactor situation in 2011 when those reactors were critical.  Instead, people had to be sent in, who have died or will die from exposure to the radiation just because it was their job to do it to keep enough control over the disaster that many more people wouldn't die. Or many many other things that would make the hours and money that went into making it really worthwhile instead of making it just act like basically a player piano.

Oh well.  If the world made sense, I'd have to figure I woke up on the wrong planet somehow.  LOL

Hey, get 3 robot clones and do a string quartet.  at least they'd probably show up for rehearsals. lol

Well at least I probably won't be around when the robots are good enough to play as well. :-)
