A "punny" fiddle-related riddle just occurred to me, so I couldn't resist posting it. If folks can think of others, maybe we can string this thread along for a while. :)

Here goes...

What's Fiddlerman's favorite part of his new boat? dunno

When the work's all done and the sun's settin' low,

I pull out my fiddle and I rosin up the bow.

The bow?

"This young wine may have a lot of tannins now, but in 5 or 10 years it is going to be spectacular, despite the fact that right now it tastes like crude oil. You know this is how it is supposed to taste at this stage of development." ~ Itzhak Perlman

You got it, Daniel!

Kinda corny, I know. BTW, I realized later that there's another possible answer if Pierre's boat has one of these (obviously I don't know much about boats).

When the work's all done and the sun's settin' low,

I pull out my fiddle and I rosin up the bow.

An irresponsible violinist is a reckless fiddler, but Batman's enemy is the feckless Riddler.

I merely solved it.  You are the one who seems to have made it up.  I find it nowhere on the web. hats_off

I am very impressed by both @OldCrow for thinking up the riddle and @RosinedUp for solving it.
I figured that it probably had to do with a fiddler and the Riddler, but was tripped up trying to think of synonyms for irresponsible.
Well done indeed!hats_off

What did the English violin say to the German viola ?

(I was not thinking about Bach and Chopin, however that was a good suggestion.)

"I say, would you mind awfully if I told you German chaps that we Brits find you Boche to be brash ?"

If you don´t get it, check the spelling of the German word for viola.

I can think of some other things an English violin might say to  German viola.

"V is for Victory"

A link to some viola jokes:

http://www.mit.edu/~jcb/jokes/viola.html

There are more.

I am a viola person myself, and I don´t mind the persecution, after all.... Bach Beethoven and Mozart all preferred to play the viola themselves. They had impeccable taste and did not need to prove anything, in a competitive sense.

But I accept a violin is a more versatile and expressive instrument.
