As some of you are aware, fiddlerman.com has a new home (managed dedicated server) and IP. Not everyone sees the new site (same site on another computer) at the same time so it's possible that still a few posts could be lost, usually not over 48 hours though.

Please let me know if you have any new issues since the move.

Apparently, our new IP was on at least one spam block list. I don't know if there are any others but bare in mind that the damage done by a corrupt IP can take time to correct. If anyone is warned about this IP please gather as much information as possible so that we can correct the issue.

I don't know about you guys but I've noticed a great improvement on speed and haven't begun optimizing the site. :-)

Hope that we haven't lost too many posts on the transfer. If you made a post that didn't carry over, let me know and I might be able to get it from the old host site.

Since the switch my reply box looks like this?  It's a bit weird.  Sentences start in the middle of the box only then scroll up to being unseen.  So I can only see a sentence at a time, and maybe a tiny bit of the previous sentence above.  Is that what everyone else's is doing.

Probably nothing to do with the server and a major WP and Simple:press update is coming up soon. What browser and what OS are you using?
This is not what we are seeing BTW. :-(

I get the same weird reply box that @Georganne mentioned in Chrome, but not in Firefox. Using windows 7, and it was happening before the server change.

I have windows 8 on my laptop, but haven't tested it yet.

A workaround: I've found if you hit reply, then cancel it, and hit reply again it goes away. Same with quote and edit - cancel, redo, problem goes away.

And the new server is great! Everything loads much faster now. smile

I get the same screen as 1stimestar when I write a reply, but I just click on the diagonal (half) chevron in the right corner of the divider bar in the center and everything is ok then. The reply window stays small, but when you fill the box it become's bigger.

No problems on this end!.

Glad to find someone on the internet I feel confident about when I can move up to my new Fiddlerman fiddle.  The bow I have now has synthetic "hair". Did the burn test.

Started to get it rehaired but the stick is some kind low end wood, warped so bad I'm afraid I'm gonna put an eye out, I'm talking about my own. Got a get the Fiddlerman carbon fiber bow SOON!  Jack

@fiddlestix, Thank you for your tip, it works!

I never noticed it there, or knew it was functional. That's much bettersmile

Was happening in Chrome, Windows XP.  Seems to have resolved itself now.  Yay.

I get the same split screen but I just cancel the reply and then reply again and it's all fixed until next time I start up Fiddlerman. {t happens to me on chrome running on xp and windows 8.  The other problem I have had for a long time is if I scroll down on unread post when I click on something it merely scrolls back up to the top.

Ugh, now it's back to the split screen again.

Let's see if there are improvements after the upgrade. Coming very soon.

I've had the same split screen thingy for a while too, Chrome and Win8.

So I just thought I'd try the quick fix Ken suggested, but the problem didn't appear this time.

I have the slowest computer ever, since I installed Windows 8, so I can't say if the page is faster or not.  I don't recommend anyone using Windows 7 to upgrade, wish I could downgrade back again.

If you think you can, or you think you can't, you're probably right.

Have this for about 2 weeks.. Thought something is with my browser (i use Chrome too) So i don't think it's related to the new "home" of the site. But it doesn't bother me. Just click here and pull down a little:121.jpgImage Enlarger

Maybe that's what Ken was talking about, i'm not that competent in English terminology of all of the window-components, sorry... So just in case here's a pic =)

@ Mad_Wed / Naska: Yep, that's exactly what I meant, but I don't pull it down, I just click it, the typing area will adjust itself as the space is needed. I also use, Chrome and it was fine up until one day it changed. I said to myself, self I say's, now what the H&*% ( heck) is wrong with my computer, then I found this thread and all is well again. Low and behold by clicking on the "Add Reply" this time, I didn't have to click anything, it just happened to be right.  dancing

I'm still having a problem with the little "Cheer Chick", I can't get her up here. I've tried everything I can think of, to no avail. frown Oh well, "Got along without her before I met her, gonna get along without her now".

And your English is just fine, young lady. wink

@ jakop: Maybe the synthetic hair on your bow came from the tail of a wooden hobby horse. lol,,, just kidding.

I haven't had those issues with the reply box, but I will say the site is moving as slow if not slower than before for me. I'm on an iPad using safari. Scrolling through pages takes forever. Any other iPad/safari users out there?
