Hello,
Just wanted to add my 2 cents here.
When i first bought my violin at the pawn shop, I looked around for a book to help me learn. I picked up "You can teach yourself Fiddling" by Mel Bay. It's an ok book and has a lot of good tunes in it.
Along with "Twinkle, Twinkle" and so on, there are a few other really cool beginner songs.
Camptown Races
Liza Jane
Buffalo Gals (my favorite)
Shortnin' Bread
Oh, Susanna
Dixie
These are some really nice tunes for violin. Most of these are in the key of G, D or A, so they're easy to play.
Then a search on the internet brought up this http://musiced.about.com/od/fr......htm.There is a list of some free sheet music here.
If you have quicktime installed the site will even play the tune for you. I imagine you can find even more looking around.
Just a few ideas...
Love,
Tilly
