Hello everyone,
I'm happy to announce that starting today, Fiddlerman is now a mobile app!
From browsing the website, watching the how-to videos, browsing the forum via RSS, reading the blog or connecting to Fiddlerman on Facebook, this app has it all.
And it is available for free via Android, and iOS!
For Android users, direct your QR scanner at the following image to begin your download:
(Android Phone QR Image)
For iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users visit this iTunes App Store Link:
http://itunes.apple.com/app/pl.....70818?mt=8

It's important that I say that there is no ad revenue generated from this app. In fact no money is made from this app, at all. If you like it, head over to Fiddlerman.com to make a donation. I'm sure Pierre will appreciate it.
Tell your friends, lets get some downloads going and tell everyone you know about this exciting new way to connect and learn to play violin!
Thanks,
M

Do all Droids have QR Scanners??? Mine is 1st Gen and I have NO IDEA where there's a scanner on this thing
If you have a camera you should be able to scan - there is an app in the android store for "barcode scanner" - that is what I used, and I am absolutely clueless about apps. I just got my Galaxy5 a couple weeks ago, and I don't have a smartphone.

when I used the above link, it sent me to download a file manager, certainly not fiddlerman.com anything. Are you sure that was the correct QR code square.

You must scan this QR code with a Barcode Scanner.
No QR code reader on your Android device? Have a look at the free Barcode Scanner from ZXing.
- Step 2. Download Android App
Once the QR code has scanned, you can click on the link to download the .apk file straight to your device. - Step 3. Install Android App
After the .apk file has downloaded to your Android device you can install it by simply clicking on it and navigating through the installation pages.

I hate to be a P.I.T.A. but even after downloading that file mgr program, I still dont have anything even remotely related to fiddlerman.comI even went back and scanned it again, same thing, went to a blank screen with a small link to a http address and the fm site but downloading that didnt produce the same results you guys are apparently getting and I do have an android motorola phone, hacked (rooted) and overclocked to 1.32mhz.
It's a nice file manager progrsm but I already use Astro...so it isnt much use to me.
Oh well... I'm on here way too much anyway...LOL
That's odd.. It might have something to do with the "rooting" of your phone. Or you are running an older version of Android. I know that the Android version of the app works great, I've seen it in action. There is such fragmentation in the Android ecosystem, that it makes it difficult to develop for every version. I'm writing a "web app" right now to make up for that issue.
Apple says the iOS app is "currently in review.." Any day now it will pop up on the App Store!

Can someone tell me what is an app for? I have an ipod, I can browse online with it, so what would the app do exactly vs browsing? I know am such a noob with the new technologies.

From what I've seen, it's basically everything that's on Fiddlerman.com but designed to be fluid and easy to access from a mobile device!
I would still have it, but it kept setting off warnings and alerts on my phone due to everything the app wants access to. (my smart phone is a little touchy.......and more like a "smart-@ss" phone!)
I keep watching for updates so that I can install it again!
