I know this is an FM approved thread but I have to divert a minute.

Lorraine, you hit a nerve with Desafinado.  I listen to it several times a year because I think it is one of the few "perfect" sessions ever.  My guys are Stan Getz and Charlie Byrd.  Getz is pure silk on his refrain.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled program.

This could be a little tough for you guys but here is my quick version.

You can choose to just use some of these double stops, a few or just get ideas from this. As Barry said earlier, we all do our own thing and mix it all together

I would not call this a "rescue" as advertised in the title but I learn from almost everything.  dancing

@Lorraine

Are you aware that FM has launched a graphic arts challenge for a design for his new T shirts.  See "T Shirt" topic.  There is a generous prize !!  cheerleader

No, but I will definitely have to look into that! Nifty! Thank you for mentioning it!

On another somewhat related subtopic (lol!)...how do I change my avatar? It shows "current uploaded avatar" where I uploaded a new one, but there is no "update" button and "current displayed avatar" shows the old one.....?

Well, as you can see above I have managed to change my avatar into a tiny Xmas tree just for the experiment.

I think the key was that I started with deleting the current avatar in the lower box (button provided).  Then I just uploaded my new candidate and then top and bottom box agreed on the new upload.

The worse that can happen is that you become a silhouette surrounded by a field of orange.  Could be worse smile

I don't appear to have the option of even deleting the current avatar (no button anywhere), and it doesn't show below in the "currently uploaded avatar", it says, "No avatar currently uploaded". If I upload another one, it only shows under "currently uploaded avatar" but doesn't change the current displayed avatar. I guess I'm stuck with my "Here comes trouble" avatar (as my husband calls it).

I repeated the operation and should now appear as a Xmas scene. (No.  I went back to original now.)

My sequence begins with the exact words REMOVE UPLOADED AVATAR in lower panel.

I'm not really used to this new site software and maybe, there is a difference between a MAC and Windows (if you are using that).  I'm on MAC.

I'm sure Fiddlerman can fix the problem.

@QuicheLoraine

Being this thread is defunct and strayed to topics musical, I must relate what I just learned from an e-mail.  You might enjoy this report.

I have a great niece who is now playing second violin for the NJ All State Orchestra.  She is also a high school Senior and preparing to audition to a list of 8 colleges.

This Summer she frolicked at a Mark Wood retreat playing her Viper violin(?).

Her high school orchestra did not have a viola so she learned that and switched between that and the violin as required.  Another more advanced group did not have an oboe so she learned that and has just recently made her debut.

That's her (blond) on the aisle chair just behind first chair lady.  (All State)

They say talent runs in families.  It ran right past me and she's got'it!
