Found a free book today on Amazon (no link by me, but can search on Amazon, if desired). Don't know how long it will be available, nor if it is any good as I just downloaded it. But, thought others might be interested.

"Unstrung is a classic 'cozy' mystery in the English tradition, though this one gets its dark and stormy nights courtesy of Kirkland, Washington, and its plot complications from the cutthroat world of classical music. Wait, cutthroat? No. Make that poisonous." - Blue Ink Review

Edited to add: "

I finished this book today and must say that I truly enjoyed it. As a mystery, it was very satisfying and well constructed. As a look into the string musician world, it was really enjoyable and believable, which is not surprising considering the author's background. It really brought home to me the feelings I once had during my youth and privy to many of the nuances of the musical world.

Although I was never an accomplished musician and only an adequate choir and chorus singer, my best friend in grammar school, high school and junior college was a very good jazz drummer, his father taught percussion at the American Conservatory of Music on Michigan Avenue in Chicago, just a block from the Chicago Symphony, and was also the choir director of the church we went to. His mother was the organist at our church and taught piano and organ.

I will never again be part of that world, but this book brings back many memories and the story was engaging.

@JohnG -

Thanks!

Haven't gotten to it, yet - but will make it a priority.
