Yes, a very difficult day with all my technical issues when the last thing I wanted to do was spend all my time in HELP.  But I hope the worse is over dazed

Actual help with someone with very bad English? Or clicking help and digging through a thousand menus to figure it out yourself? Either way, you need a break!

David,   I think I lost a post of you playing Dixie.  Was pretty good but it seems to have disappeared.  What do you make of that?

Yeah, menus is right.  Plus, when I was recording, I had 3 devices actually running at the same time all with on/off buttons  dazed

OMG I turned the wrong one off!! Multiple on offs...recipe for disaster! I moved the video to another thread, "Embedding a youtube video." It is in the Breakroom. Could not figure out how to do it, it is just a link.

@David B.

Followup on this thread.
I have never liked a recording of my playing because it always seemed flat.  It did not sound flat as I actually played it for the recording.
After much thinking and experiment I decided on recording with the microphone at about 4 feet away versus previous up close at 16-18".
The result was MUCH better and I know that because most of the time I can not hear myself in the audio clip below.  This has to mean that my notes are blending in which would not happen if I were off.  There are a few spots where I "lost it" and the violin becomes very obvious.
The violin has a better tone quality also.
I should have been a sound engineer.

(now I have to fix piezo quack)

I am working too hard trying to set up the Zoom G1N, preamps, computer (Audacity), guitar amp, etc.   I'm building a small studio.
I hope relief is on the way because my son will donate one of his old movie cameras which he says works great for audio so maybe I can get back to spending more time playing.

We'll soon see/hear.

Does anyone else get a plug-in failure for Olivers QuickTime file.

Here is the direct link for those of you who do.

Good job Oliverdancing

I picked Quick Time off of a list associated with applications during media file uploading.  Should I have chosen something else?  The default FLASH did not seem to work(?)

I think that you made the best choice. The alternative is to copy the address associated with the uploaded link, write a title on the post, mark the title and link it with the above link tool.

Only thing you need to think about when using the embedder as you did is to uncheck Autoplay under the advanced menu so the piece doesn't automatically start to play every time someone loads or reloads this Topic.

Glad to hear about AutoPLay.  I think I was on the verge of playing 2 uploads at the same time roflroflroflroflroflwhich I thought was pretty strange so I went back and deleted the older of the posts.  I understand the option now but I would love to have a HELP on this site.  (Is there one hidden somewhere?)

Yes, I get the QuickTime failure popup.  I thought it was just my slow connection.

True genius!  I hope someday I will be good enough to play that bad  violin-student

Let us restore this forum to proper dignity with a performance showcasing the violin at it's very pinnacle !  Watch at least 3 minutes.

The piece is known as the "Hungarian Warm-up" exercise.

That's something else. I could only force myself to listen to about two minutes of that one.
