Anyone else researching their family histories?

Just in case we are related here are some names I have searched and/or am searching- Van Schaick, Bingham, Marion, Bisnette, Ladd, Alspaugh, Howard, Hammer, Pickering

My Icelandic line - difficult to list names because children keep their father's first names and add either son or dottir and women do not change their names at marriage.

I have a lot of my family history researched. Now, I am on the tough lines. I am a family history consultant in my church.

I don't recall any of those families in my lines. My wife who is a daughter of the Utah pioneers has Bingham in her family history, I think.

My mother and I both have been researching our family history for a very long time. I don't recognize any of those surnames, though.

I've also been researching my genealogy for a long time, too, without much success. I'm afraid that I don't have any of those surnames in my lineage. Wish I could help. A few of those names seem to be somewhat common, which can be both an advantage and a disadvantage in genealogical research.

I pull out my fiddle and I rosin up the bow.

My dad did a lot of research but I myself don't care all that much for it. I figure, we are what we are and we didn't do anything to affect it. :-)

@gwscheer - Well you know originally the Icelanders were from Norway so I do have connections going back to Norway but they are very, very early.  Icelanders are huge on genealogy and have amazing records.

No I am not on that forum.   Knitting and felting is more of a very fun way to make money for myself.  I make up my own patterns and designs for different hats and scarves.  This last year I made 4 sweaters to sell - they didn't sell so I'm not sure I will make any more.  I will give the sweaters to family members.
