Ive listened to a bunch of these get up in the cool episodes over time, this one is a favorite I revist for several reasons.
Edens voice on a couple of songs being one reason. And her fiddle playing..you have to hear. especially toward the end of the podcast. I couldnt remember the name of the tune but the description says polly put your kettle on.
Their discussion about building banjos together and raising their baby is fun.
Their description of Mt View Ark. makes me want to retire there.
Eden also discusses her leaving Berkley in her first year to go work on a fishing boat because she said that she didnt feel mature enough since she gratuated high school early and went to Berkley alot younger than most. ..some funny talk at that point.
And above all great music if you like old time.

I don't want to forget about this his tune, don't know why I didn't just play it through when I 1st heard it (did it now, cause I had a minute). ...would like to listen to the podcast again, later.
I really LOVE it's dorian/minor feel, but I've heard versions that sound totally unrelated.
First I thought maybe I was only thinking of the nursery rhyme tune, so did a little digging at The Session. They have a strathspey listed & a hornpipe by that name, not matching this. This tune that Eden & Lukas play sounds more like a couple versions of "Molly Put Your Kettle On" - a reel. Don't know if the tune & play on the name just came about as a variation of "Polly", or what.
The Old Time "Polly Put Your Kettle On" versions I've run across have a completely different feel & sound... like these 2:
Vi Wickam has a tutorial for "Polly Put Your Kettle On" - he says it is a 'Breakdown' (I'm still not a 100% clear on the meaning).
Dom Flemons, Joe Seamons & Ben Hunter's "Polly Put The Kettle On".
I definitely like the 'Molly/Polly Put Your Kettle On' played by Eden & Lukas - the best!
...reminds me of how different the tunes called "Midnight Waltz" are in the Many Faces of The Violin - ALL Seen in a Waltz! Thread. Jeez, another tune I meant to play - guess I better get back to my list, soon.
