@damfino - Glad to see you here! Happy anniversary! I keep checking your YouTube channel, but it's been 3 months since The Apple Blossom Slide was posted, which was excellent as always.

(forgive typos, I’m on my phone at work, lol)

@Mouse I am still playing :) I just added to my fiddle collection, got one of those pretty antique mother of pearl inlay fiddles. It had a bit of work done to make it sound its best, and it plays like butter.

@JohnG wow, it has been a while, I need to do a new one. I started a new job in May, so I’m getting used to the full time schedule (used to work 4 days a week). Maybe I’ll do a new video with the new fiddle. Hoping to maybe do some lessons again during the winter months. Lessons help keep me motivated.

Still on my phone so posting this isn’t as easy as I’d like, lol, but here are a few pictures of the new lady.

@damfino -

Happy Anniversary!

Hope to hear you play that beautiful new fiddle!

It's definitely a work of art, even the edges are beautiful! 🥰

Beautiful artwork on your fiddle!  I really like the edging, too--such nice detail.  Happy Anniversary--

Thanks, everyone! Here’s a better picture of those edges, I love those, too. They look like twisted rope.

And here is a quick video of me playing her (she’s been named Miss Opal). Her notes sit ever so slightly different than my other fiddle, so forgive the flat notes, that’s my fingers reverting back to what I’m used to, lol.

@damfino

👏👏👏👏👏

Thank you for that. Miss Opal plays a nice tune, as does her owner. You look so comfortable and at ease playing. You sure look like you are having a lot of fun, and it is great fun to watch. Thank you!

@damfino -

Miss Opal sounds FABULOUS!

Your wonderful playing helps, of course. 😊

Is the string length a bit longer on Miss Opal?

Btw, love Frank's reel - been on my list, just haven't gotten to it.

So nice to see you this happy!

Thank you for sharing this - hope to hear more!

Thank you, @Mouse @ABitRusty @Mark and @ELCBK   :)

She is slightly bigger overall than my other fiddles, just fits in the fiddle cases, where the others have wiggle room.

That little difference in size makes a big difference. I just traded in a Vuillaume that I had that was a tad larger than normal violins. The fingering did require a slight adjustment, and it too just fit into a violin case.
