What instrument is the hardest to learn/play ? I doubt it is the violin.

The instrument/music that always scared me is the flamenco guitar.  Intricate.  Couple of things going on at once.  Mission Impossible.  Sounds like two (or more) instruments at once.  A stand alone duet or more.

I think it comes down to the individual . case in point, Ive been a guitar player since I was 7, played my first paying gig at 14, we were still doing Ricky Nelson, Beatles and Elvis tunes at that time.

The other day I was at the music store and grabbed a classical guitar , which Im sure now is on my list down the line ( a nice Cordoba) and started doing some D-C -G    basic finger picking work...thumb 3,thumb 2 ,thumb 1, thumb 3 progression, dude says WOW, you a classical player ??...lol

Oh lord, I wasnt ready to explain my life in music with a simple answer

My curiosity led me to this "basic" sample of flamenco music.  Makes doubles look easy violin-student  More credit to them.

Once upon a time I knew 3 chords (and the truth) but my guitar mysteriously disappeared at about the time my son moved out (?)

Just as well.  I'm glad to just "sit'down" in view of the many great guitarists out there including my hero:
