I should have kissed more. Hard. You know, roughed up the skin there, toughened it up; made my lips less vulnerable to a hard life.
Playing clarinet is a piece of cake and fun, its just that most of the sound is less than fun. The sax is a bit harder on the lips (and ears). But the oboe is creating blisters; so much so that I have to skip a day before playing again.
So my advice to anyone wanting to play these instruments.....Kiss a lot.

My guess is that she is a professional oboist playing somewhere in Europe. Hard to get away with having that many children and playing professionally full time here in the states.
She actually is here in the states - I know her through my church and she is on staff at a University. Her husband is also a musician. Unusual, but not impossible!
