Well, we got a couple visitors this evening. There is another couple living in the house 3 houses east. We met the husband already. They have been there about 2 or 3 years. The wife and the 1st grade son came over this evening. She brought a couple cookies that she made and frosted pretzels. The little boy wrote a message on a Christmas card for us. It is front and center in doorway we hang them on. It was the first one.

We turned on the train under the tree for him and let him toot the whistle. He loved it. I had extras of the snowman ornament I made a couple years ago, and of the owl ornaments I made last year. I got one of each off the tree for him to take home.

He saw the violins hanging in the wall. I got one down and rosined a bow. I sat down and held it the way it would be held and let him bow it. He had a riot.

Then he asked what the cellos were and I told him they were cellos and played lower notes than the violin. I got out a cello bow and rosined it,  pulled out a cello and the endpin and held it like it would and let him bow it. I fingered the string he was bowing so it would change notes. He loved it. I could not do that with the violin because of the awkward way it is held. He just did open strings and I changed the tilt so he could get the different strings. LOL

Then we turned on the piano for him. Volume control was used! LOL

It was fun. His mom said he is getting drum lessons.
