LOL, good one, Oz: Wasn't that way when I was a kid. If you played violin, in orchestra or played golf, you were called a sissy. If you wore glasses (which I did in fourth grade) you were called four eyes, if you wore brace's on your teeth, you were called metal mouth. How time's have changed. Now if you do those thing's and wear those thing's, you are in with the crowd. LOL, anyone remember that song ? Brace's on your teeth nowadays are a status symbol.
Oh ya, you also had to smoke cigarette's and comb your hair back in a D.A. or you weren't cool. I wouldn't trade those "back when I was a kid" day's for anything, even if I am old.
That's when Elvis was on his way to stardom and all the guy's were in love with Annette Funicello. You wonder if I was, of course, I was a "Mousketeer" too.
I had to stop taking violin lesson's when I was in 9 or 10, mom couldn't afford lesson's or rental any longer. I should have taken the money I earned selling flower seed's door to door and applied that toward lesson's and rental of my violin.
sigh....
