Very cool. 
The "ethanol" that we can purchase here in Florida has additives/impurities. I did manage to get some online though. "Everclear" 190 proof. That is 95% grain alcohol. Perfect to use with varnish, french polish, shellac flakes.... etc.

Nice one! Several years ago they forbad to sell alcohol even in the drugstores.... =/ Sober Russia!

Well, we can buy alcohol as a drinks (whiskey, vodka, etc.) but there's no pure ethanol for sale anymore.

Ahhhhhhh. That makes sense. So if you need pure grain alcohol you have to make it yourself and in your basement without the knowledge of anyone except for your closest friends???
