oh its a great idea and I like what youve done. All im saying is i start out like that and lose control. i need to put stuff back in its hiding place. I have a cheap wooden bench thing that the seat raises up. basically a storage chest that has stuff i dont use all the time in it. some of the loose paperwork and atuff needs to be organised and put back THERE. 🙂

@Mouse Good re-purposing of a neat cart.
I know when I want to organize something, I go looking for a "thing", and end up using something that is not its intended purpose.
I got a few of these magazine racks that I put sheet music in. 1st saw them on Amazon, and thought I could use them for music, but thought they cost too much.
But then I saw a refurbished one that was cheap, so I got it. Then went back at a later date and saw one that was "damaged" (a returned item), but it was just the shipping box that was damaged--doesn't have any damage on the actual rack. Got a few more that way, all undamaged except one with a small scratch on the back (who's looking at the back?).

@ABitRusty . . . and mine is already disorganized. Started out grouping stuff together, but then got those loose sheets of music, end up slipping them in. . .
Guess it's time to look for another "thing"

I've had plastic carts like in the OP's photos, but they tend to be too easily pulled apart. I'm gearing myself up to buy this pretty soon, as what I have is rubbbish. I like the magazine rack, but I wonder if it would only be suited to compendiums so that you don't have a vast number of books. If your pieces are all individually published, I suppose you go by composer. But nice wooden furniture like that can be expensive. I'd like a 1930s wooden roll-front filing cabinet, but they cost up to a grand here. This one is OK, but I don't want to spend that money, and they often have drawers missing.

@Gordon Shumway I have a couple like the one you posted with the colored drawers. I keep getting sucked in. The runners for the drawers do not catch the lip of the drawers. Any amount of weight, even about 3 skeins of yarn, they do not stay on the track. They need a wider track ledge for the drawer and a wider lip on the drawer so it sits in that that ledge.
Yep, they are total rubbish. In addition, they are bigger than A4 at the top, but taper to A4 at the bottom, and some music editions are bigger than A4.
