Hi folks! wanted to let yall check out my website and let me know what you think. I am just going full time into the luthier business, although I have been working on violins since I was 12. Any how, any suggestions? (besides that I need to start paying for it so I'll have my own URL lol)

http://bondlutherie.webstarts.com

Thanks,

Christian

Great job Christian,

The site looks good, simple and clear. I like it very much. The only thing you need now is a useful links button where you write. Want to buy a violin but can't play? Visit Fiddlerman and learn for free Smile

Basically, that is what you have right here on my forumSmile I can see that readers are looking at your posts. I have to be careful not to make my site too commercial or visitors will avoid it. The adsense on the right side is my only source of income for working on this site.

BondL.

Does it make sense to ship bows to you for rehair (2-3) or does shipping rates and/or insurance make that a poor choice ?  I'm in NC.

I believe even with shipping and insurance it would cost you less to send them to me. I charge $25 per bow, which is well below going rate. I pay return shipping. Let me know If you are still interested, and I'll give you my shipping address. Thank you,

Christian

I will look into it.  I want to choose a couple of bows from my collection.  Actually, my bows are not expensive types but I find that having a choice of feel or touch is often handy as instruments go in and out of different moods with weather, etc.

I also have to decide about keeping a few wood bows that have warped too much.

Need to do some homework here.

Sure thing Oliver. Also remember that bows can be warped back into shape. Its really only worth it for real nice bows. Just let me know when you get ready.

I've actually had my Nürnberger reshaped several times and the results have been great.  IMAO, 25 dollars for a re-hair is extremely reasonable.
