Yay, it's finally gotten dark enough to see them.

I spent way too long getting my settings set for the lights and by the time I got them figured out again, the main show I was watching ended. So I dinked around getting these until my battery was dead. I normally have my other battery with me in the camera case but I just got a new tripod so had put the camera on the tripod before I left home so didn't have my case with me. So then on my way home, they pop out magnificently again. UGH!

Cool,

I was hired for a tour in Narvik, Norway and got to see those beautiful Northern Lights. :-) Fantastic!!!

Very cool shots, @Georganne ! Must been neat to be able to see the Northern Lights as frequently as you do up there. I saw them once on a ski trip up in northern Maine.

Sure you can have one for your desktop.  Let me find you a couple of good ones to choose from.  Or you can just look back in my blog.  There are lots there.

Here's a video I made last year.  I took these where I work for the Yukon Quest (our 1000 mile dog sled race).

Eh most of my photos are on my laptop upstairs.  I'll dig through them soon but here is one I made that you might like.

Oh here is one from when it was supposed to be a very active night so we hauled the arctic oven tent out to the pond (through the woods on a snowmachine) and set up for a night of photography.  This was the only decent picture I got that whole danged night!

Here are some of my very favorite ones, from March 2011.

Sorry for the links.  I don't want to download them to this laptop then upload them to the page.  Hope you all enjoy one of my other obsessions lol.

Those shot are very nice. I used to travel back and forth from US to France via the northern route. If we were lucky and I was awake and it wasn't the south side of the aircraft, I could seen them from 35,000'. Its one of those incredible phenomenon of nature that you never tire of looking at. Amazing. Thanks for sharing. :)
