Hey Everyone!!
Yes, it's me. The long lost fiddler known as EJ (Eric) or just, that guy over there!
Being that it is the end of the year, I can't believe how fast 2014 has blown by! It has been so full of up's and downs for me! Despite all the "downs," I think it's going to end on a really high note! (knocks on wood)
Let me catch everyone up as I have been really bad about checking the forum this year! (.....so, so, sorry!)
This year started with a ton of stress. As many of you know, I've trying to work through some medical issues since a really bad accident in 2008. Well, doc says that I'm officially retired. I will have much more time on my hands with an extremely active mind....but not so active body! LOL Believe me, I don't like retirement, but doc doesn't want my conditions to worsen. Especially after my low point in 2014. Just after my birthday in August, I suffered a series of strokes because of my pain levels. Thankfully, I came out okay, but it was enough to scare the crap out of me.
But you know what? A lot of good came out of it. I had to re-evaluate my life and make decisions on how to live it the best way I could. And once again, music helped me through another tough time. It took me about another month to hold my bow again, but it gave me something to focus on. It gave me another goal. Now, I'm back to playing everyday.
I also received a large gift of several violins in need of repairs and a purpose! I'm currently working on them and plan on distributing them to people with injuries or disabilities in order to help them the same way violin & music has helped me. It's a tough job, but it will be well worth it.
I've also started my own blog on my experience in dealing with a traumatic injury, Worker's Compensation, Disability and the role of Music in my life. I made my first post in October and have already received several messages expressing support!
I am also in the process recording some original piano & violin songs! I've launched a few rough edits on YouTube and the support has been nothing short of amazing! I've even had requests from followers to collaborate with a vocalist, which I may look into!
Imagine, I'm doing all this while moving into a new home! LOL My wife and I are finally settled in and we actually have a dedicated music room! Which now houses my new FM Soloist Violin!
For the rest of this year and all of next year, I really want to focus on music. I've even picked up a piano, trumpet and guitar student. They were the ones who really pushed me to start recording!
So, to forewarn y'all, I'm going to be posting more and looking for more input on how to take the next steps in my musical journey and I want to make sure everyone here is part of it. After all, my fiddlin' story began here!
Hope all is well! I see I missed a ton! I have much to catch up on....and figure out as I see a bunch of new features here! LOL ......again, sorry!
If I haven't met you yet, please introduce yourselves! I'm trying to make my way through older posts, but I know I'll miss some!
Best,
EJ

@EJ-Kisz
I have to say.. I needed some music yesterday.. I played your song and Imagine over and over while I made soap.. I felt peaceful and happy. I had your stuff playing from my iphone to the beatbox.
Thanks for the music. I actually kept going back to your piece. I am addicted to that beautiful piece.
Cheers,
Toni

Thanks everyone!
It's funny how things turn out. 20 years ago, I had aspirations to be some sort of rock star, yet, this new path seems much more suitable. Yeah, it may be tough, but it's introduced me to so many new paths and influences that I would have never considered on my own.
....an Interesting example:
The song "Beautiful Shadow's." I wrote the intro melody over 10 years ago for a friend who was down and out on her luck. It was meant to be simple yet goofy and to provide a distraction. I jotted it down in my notebook and forgot about it until recently. It just reminded my that sometimes we need to return to the simple things in life. So, I went back to that melody and it turned out beautifully!
Then, as fate would have it, I was practicing it for the recording when I made a mistake. (in my case, what else is new, right? lol) Well, that mistake lead to beginnings of another song I'm working on called "Moments." I didn't think lightning could strike twice, but I think it just did! Hopefully, that one will be ready soon!
You never know where life will lead you!

Awe, thanks Naska!!!!
@coolpinkone That's so awesome about the soap making! I'm glad I could help in some way! LOL I still need to clean that song up a bit. Because of the camera I was using, it's hard to tell where some of the inflection and variations are.
I played it on a baby grand a few weeks ago, and all I can say is, wow. The loud & soft parts came out so amazing!

How did it sound through actual speakers? Mine kept clipping. My new song, "Finding Christmas," I backed up the camera/mic and it seemed to work a little better. ....still not sold on the quality yet! LOL
That baby grand was AMAZING! I didn't want to leave it!!!
