How do I put a photo in my Profile? When I look at that section it says something about needing a URL where the photo can be found. I don't have a webpage of my own--maybe a photo can't be added? (I admit I'm not very smart about this stuff.)

Your profile photo is called an avatar; so in your profile click on edit avatar. There you can upload a pic from your computer. Note the size limitations specified there. You may have to resize the photo first using Photoshop or whatever program you use. Hope that helps.

Thanks, Diane. That info is what I need. I've just tried uploading various size pictures; the only one that took was very small in the window; all the others were too large and wouldn't upload. I think I'll stick with the default no-picture--this is way beyond me, as I was afraid it would be, ha. No one ever accused me of being computer-literate.
Perhaps you could email a photo to someone and have them send you back a photo that will work or send one to fiddlerman in PM and maybe he could put it in for you.

As a fellow Oregonian, I can tell you most people look for wagon trains or big foot in the back ground of your photos. I can see a wooden wall behind you that's not raw logs with mud and grass. You also have a shirt on not made of freshly shorn sheep's wool. Are you certain you're from Oregon? I lived in Union for several years, I don't remember houses looking like yours.

cdennyb, are you serious? Just take a good look at the motley looking band of cut throats, mobsters, and social outcasts already here. If you lined us all up, it would be like a most wanted list at any post office or police station.

You guys crack me up! I never imagined there'd be any humor at all to find in this weird thread I started. And no one so far has even mentioned the awful typo I made in the subject line. I tried to go back and edit it but I didn't find any place where the subject line could be changed, ha. I'm happy to be part of such a wacky group!

I'm actually having the same problem, I click upload and nothing happens. I've resized it several times.

What type of file are you trying to upload? Make sure that the file has the right ending to it. Dot - jpg, jpeg, JPG, JPEG, gif, GIF, png, PNG
Also, when resizing your picture use a maximum of 300 X 300 pixels.
