I have had three dots on my fingerboards next to the A string at D, G, and D. Today I took off the first and third, leaving only the G. I left it on because the only tune I play up on the e string is "You Raise Me Up" and I feel I still need help with finger location so that I can hit that high G. So even though I still need a "pacifier" to help me feel safe, to me this is a big day. And the really good news is that the dots came off without leaving a mark. I still have a lot left in my bottle of fingernail polish, what should I do with it?

Ha ! Good news ! Congrats !
