Most of the time I play in my livingroom while watching TV. If I sit in my recliner, the sound get's absorbed into the padding of the furniture. If I stand and play, it's much better because I have high cathedral ceiling's in the kitchen, one bedroom, one bathroom, and living room. To get the best sound, I often play in the one bathroom with a cathedral ceiling the accoustic's are phenominal.

When I record a video, I''m in one bedroom with the computer and the sound is louzeeeeeeee......

Yeah, you don't have all the carpet, stuffed furniture, etc... to deaden the sound. Do you record from a camcorder or another device ?

I'm stuck with my webcam so i'm limited as to where I can take it. I do have an 8mm Sony video cam but it doesn't have a card in it, I would have to patch it into the computer and I don't have a patch cord / cable.

For the acoustic, the backyard has been nice, but winter is coming.

The front hallway is pretty good.  High ceilings, hard walls, but carpeted.  Not much natural reverb to it, but it is big enough to not sound stifled.

For the electric, the kitchen is where the amp is.  Not unusual for me to be playing it unamplified while pacing through the house, but that isn't for good sound.  LOL

One of my bedrooms has no carpet only floorboards ( temporary) and that is where I generally practice, but my kitchen, though smaller, seems to be better suited to my violin.

Soon I will be living on my own again so I'll get the chance to use the lounge again, which has wood effect flooring and is much more open

I am amazed at how old people of my age are.....

whenever I am on the phone and in the loo, I get reports that my end sounds funny. I play mostly sittin on my bed in my room. Or in some parking lot (walmart) for hours trying to attract some attention and interestviolin-1260.

Ken, when I was growing up, my family used to refer to the bathroom as "the Library",,, but I like "the Music Room" much better,,,,, PLEASE just don't do any of your vids there! LMAO.

I love the acoustics in our family room, but my family kicks me out when I start playing!

Bathroom playing can be a lot of fun. You can have more fun playing this style music than with Bach and Beetovin type stuff. You can play for friend's and they will have fun, if your're playing classical stuff, friend's don't know what you're playing and get bored quick.

Oliver, I hope you don't think that's me playing "Sweet Georgia Brown".

A shower can work both way's for you. I can make you sound good, but can also amplify the screw up's.

And low and behold, this is my 800th post. Woooo... Hoooo ..... clap

fishnrodds, I can see why you like to play there. Seeing that picture makes me want to play.
