Hello, I have been asked to lead an amateur orchestra to perform The Sound of Music musical at a theatre. I heard the piece but haven't seen the 1st violin part. Does anybody know if I can look at it somewhere online to check if I would be comfortable to do this? Unfortunately the theatre has not got the music yet themselves.

You may be out of luck. Every time I've played that it's been a rental. Why don't you ask the orchestra to scan it in for you before you make the decision.

Thanks Fiddlerman. I listened to it on YouTube and I should be fine. I have lead  Thoroughly Modern Millie and West Side Story before. It is the typical thing that they haven't received the rental music yet. Unfortunately happens lot. Never mind. I like a challenge :)
