Can't wait to see who you get Barry.
We lost both of our dogs (both were "rescue") last Christmas (within 4 wks of each other) and it KILLED us; I felt so badly for you when you lost Jake.
But two weeks after losing them we bought two new puppies (boxers, male and female), and it made the loss sooooooo much more bearable. We still miss them both, and the two new ones are a continuation of the love we had for them.

I am really sorry to hear about losing your best friend.
I am with you as I lost some of mine due to some hard circumstances. It was heart broken to the point that I don't want to have any now, just because I don't think that I can go though it again.
But who knows, I am thinking about getting a couple of them in the future because they are so wonderful being around.
Best wishes to you finding another friend. Keep us posted. Maybe some pics of your new ones, perhaps?

When I lost my rabbit Thumper I wasn't going to get another because I didn't want to go through the loss again. Well one day, a few months ago, my wife tells me I have to come with her and not ask any questions. I thought for sure she was taking me to look at some old piece of furniture she wanted to buy. First a stop at someones house then follow him to a barn. Still I was expecting to find some old thing that I had to repair. The gentleman leads us into a stall and there he is. A beautiful black Flemish Giant. Now I have a new friend. He is not the same but he is his own personality. Having him lets me remember Thumper and to make new memories with Aslan. Barry, you will know when you find your dog and your search will be over.
