Well my practice has to go on pause yet again, this time not only due to travel, but a life changing experience while travelling on business.  I came to Manila on a 3 week business trip and decided not to take my violin since I work long hours and it's just 3 weeks... Day 3 of my trip I had a freak accident, fell in the shower at an impossible angle, fractured my hip and laid there for 10 hours yelling for help before I was rescued.

I had hip replacement surgery 2 days later and now have a metal hip.  I've been in this hospital bed for a month now and will be here another month before I have the surgeon's blessing to travel.  I miss my violin but checking in here from time to time gives me a little 'fix'.  Due to Manila time zone I never get to catch up with any of you live on chat though!

Lucky to be in a great hospital in Makati, with fantastic staff...Now it's a slow recovery and waiting game until I'm home and have my violin again :)

Miss my friends here!

Cyborg Shell :)

Oh heck, what a story !

Glad you finally got "rescued", but 10 hours is NOT funny.....

These injuries take some time to recover from - so take it easy, plan you fiddling for when you get back, and keep on following the forum and StreetJelly !!!

Get well soon !clockclockclockviolin-bang (oh, that last smiley is ME playing, not you! LOL )

I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh - guntohead.JPG

Please make your own, different mistakes, and help us all learn :-)

Oh my goodness!  Yikes.  Well, hopefully your recovery goes well though I know it takes a long time.  Good luck.

Opportunity is often missed because it wears suspenders and looks like hard work.

That's just terrible.  I am so sorry to hear that. I hope you're fit as a fiddle soon.

Wishing you a speedy recovery!

So sorry to hear that, Shell! That must have been awful, especially being far from home. Glad you're doing better, though, and able to check in here. Please keep us posted.

Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Thank you all for the kind words and support.  It really means a lot to me.  Looking forward to getting back to practice and maybe participating in an upcoming group project once I'm home in April :)
