Here, have a short, sweet and educational video on notes!

Even though I've studied both musical theory, physics and physiology, this video managed to teach me new stuff. Like "Oh, that's what overtones are!" and "Oh, that's why the same note sounds different on different instruments!" Not to mention it's highly entertaining and nerdy. What's not to like?

I was a little distressed by her writing with highlighters on her viola, but I reckon it'd come off with a moist cloth... Also: she snapped a string in the name of science. How cool is that!

What a awesome video, Alma, thanks.

Couldn't keep up with her but I smiled the whole time it was playing, so I'm no more knowledgeable now than before I watched it.

I don't think her string actually snapped, I think it probably wasn't all the way in the tailpiece slot and just appeared to snap,  it happen's to me all the time when changing string's.

Excellent thread.       clap

I paused and rewound a few times to keep up...

Didn't know that about the tailpiece. Must be careful with that once I start changing strings!

Glad you like it, it's always nice to spread geekiness to the world!
