Every once in a while I get led to a cool film, maybe even a Silent one I haven't seen -  always an extra treat if it's about a Violinist, or the Fiddle plays an important part in the storyline!

Here's a Silent film where the violin playing 'wins over the girl', made by Oregon University students - "Ed's Coed" (1929).

"The Voice of the Violin" (1909) - this violinist stops a terrorist act, which helps him 'get the Girl'!

These are only some vintage stills, but the subject matter is interesting... "Jill and The Old Fiddle" (1915) - "a woman is lured to her death by the sound of her dead Grandfather's violin".

IMDB has a list of THIRTY TWO Movies about Violinists!

I've only seen a handful of them - one I shared in the Le Concert Thread

I know there are more (YOU know of any?), because Two Set Violin has picked on some that aren't listed here!

"High Strung" (2016) - a ballet student tries to help a Violinist (without a visa) get a scholarship, so he can stay in the Country legally.

Here's the whole movie (it's in English).

Two Set Violin's take on it...

I enjoyed the movie Hilary and Jackie. It was about Hilary du Pre, the English Cellist who was married to Daniel Berenboim. If I remember correctly, she died young of MS.

@Stayrook -

I remember watching that film - sad, but true story.
