what has happened to the value of our dollar?!!

If this is the "real value" of our currency then I suspect a brand new house would cost around $2500-5000 and a new car in the range of $400-800 depending on options.

I actually found the Sear's Catalog page that featured my 2 rescue violins!  I would love to buy like 20 violins!! LOL

Considering how the average worker was making back then, I wonder if nowadays violins cost more or less then before?

I've heard that the cost of the violins in the pic I posted was nearly equivalent to 3 weeks worth of pay of the average worker.  I wonder how the modern violins stack up against our average pay........
