I started out on drums about the time I learned how to walk. 5th grade I took up trumpet for the school band. Was First chair for the next few years then got kicked out of band in Junior high school because I was caught skipping class and they found me in the band area practice room playing my trumpet with a lit cigarette.
From then on to now I play guitar (all styles) piano, harmonica, sax, trumpet, drums, vocals and now violin.

I can play the alto recorder. I play my vocal cords (lalalalala) and I've also dabbled in piano. I haven't played that in years though (but it's kind of hard to play when you don't have one anymore). I can sort of play flute, too, but I don't really want to get better at that one. I'll stick to my violin and singing (and possibly piano if I can ever save enough to get one).

Here's a photo of my Cecilio mini trumpet...It sounds real good...My other trumpet has been in the shop for over a month now getting worked on because I loaned it to my nephew for his school band last year and he chewed gum and drank koolaid and what not. Thats a no no for brass. Sugar will ruin the instrument.

I have two sons that play brass, my oldest Jake played trumpet in high school marching band. He is in the Air Force now. Just made E-5. My second son Ryan played trombone. Jake does not play anymore, I have been trying to get him to play taps at veteran's funerals, but no dice. Ryan still plays til his wife gets mad, he recently sat in on a Jazz group practice session. He said they were way too good for him.
I have tried guitar, and piano. Guitar really hurt my left hand, blisters and cramps. Piano just confused the hell out of me.

GennaLea,
You can pick up a used electric keybord pretty cheap, and, depending on where you live, you may be able to run across a good used piano. I had a Baldwin Acrosonic that someone was giving away and I reccently sold it for $ 25.00. I'm looking at a M-Audio 61 Key MIDI controller and I'll run it through my computer. Something to think about.

bullnuke, unfortunately I'm very, VERY picky when it comes to what I want for a piano/keyboard. I want a keyboard that has the full 88 keys and is touch sensitive/weighted so it feels like a "regular" piano. I also want something that I can use to record on my computer. I did see a wonderful piano that was for sale on ebay for only $250. It was BEAUTIFUL. Unfortunately it was in another state and the cost of delivery was about $1,000. So needless to say, that beauty never graced my living room. Ho-hum. Anyway, I do have a keyboard in mind that I've been drooling over. I just can't remember the name of it right now. It's around $500 or so.
