@Fiddlerman
Why would we take it away? Maybe it's the military in me; when you earn a medal/decoration, they don't take away a lower level award once you've earned a higher one.
Do they take away your high school diploma once you've earned a Bachelor's Degree? Or take away the Bachelor's once you've got a Masters?
Plus, administratively, increased workload. Big enough problem getting all the badges to the folks who have earned them--would increase oversight to have to monitor who all needs something taken away.

You don't think it's like keeping your private's stripe on when you're wearing your corporal's stripes?
The point was partly that Pierre is the only one with 10000 posts. He doesn't need a 100-post badge.
And, yes, it was a post that was meant as a jest, partly. Mouse sounds as though she's afraid of a spate of 10000-post badge claims soon!
More seriously, a 1000-post badge might make sense. Otoh, some people are just more voluble than others.

No. Different things. Rank & award - apples & oranges.
I do agree that a badge between the 100 and the 10000 is sensible.
