I love fiddlerman.com because....

Fiddlerman makes me feel right at home.  He makes me feel appreciated and he makes me really want to GO FOR IT!  Positive mental attitude is a plenty on this site.. That's why.

I like it here, cuz the people are like me for the most part. Lost, searching, stumbling, helping each other. Kind of like family. As far as Fiddlerman's playing goes, at first I was very intimidated. It is almost discouraging to see and hear him rip through a scale and make it seem effortless. But then, he smiles, laughs a bit and shows us the building blocks and gives encouragement to us and lets us know we can do it too. Just need more practice!

WOW!!!! - that is worse than MGN's luthier that wouldn't look at his inexpensive fiddle. What is wrong with people? Does she think that everyone should be professional? She wouldn't have a job if it was that easy and everyone had the time to learn. Can you give us her name, or PM me?

Why do I love fiddlerman.com?

Hmmm....I know a lot of people have said it's the family feelings. I have put a lot of thoughts in this question and HAVE to disagree with it. In my family, we fight a lot, but here, we don't! We support each other, we learn from each other. I felt peaceful here and I felt I belong here.

I tried a couple other violinist forum, One, i quit as fast as I found the website. The other popped up once in a while when I searched for something related to violin; it's more for professional violinists who play in orchestra or teach violin -- i don't belong in those groups. Maybe I could learn a lot from those two forums, but I just couldn't find a place for myself. There's no where I could chit chat.

Here, I felt like I am not only learning to play violin, but also get to "meet" and "know" each other bit by bit. I'm not afraid to post any "stupid" questions.

I felt comfortable here, Like a fish in water. I guessed it is why I love Fiddlerman.com

I like it because it doesn't matter where you are from, how old you are, how long you have been playing, what you like to play. The only thing that matters is that you like to play the fiddle/violin. It is like a family, we don't all have the same beliefs or back grounds, but we have one thing in common, we all have a passion to learn and play, and to help others do the same. I have a friend in my area that plays also. I see her once a week at church our greeting to each other is "hello fiddle buddy". I would like to extend the same greeting to all of you. Hello fiddle buddies.

I don't know about you guys (and I may be weird for this) but when I think of fiddlerman I usually hear the words 'welcome to fiddlerman.com' in my head, in the exact way that he says them in his videos. of course I picture his smiling face too and think of his beautiful music ... and I imagine him wearing his fiddlerman hat, can't forget the hat! tongue

I love the supportive environment here. I wouldn't be afraid to post a video of my bad playing because I know everyone would offer great support and advice. I love that Fiddlerman created this but I also love what the members have made it become. thumbs-up

i think its great that a classical trained musician is offering knowlegde for free.  its not everyday you find a classical musician that willing to share their experience and knowlegde for free.
