We definitely have fruit loops. Not the healthiest cereal in the world but we have it. 🙂 Very colorful.

One of the reasons I love FM because of his amazing pinky curve. thumbs-up  This site is by far my favorite one.  Thank you for this wonderful site FM, you make a newbie feel like she can conquer her violin. Woohoo.cheerleader

Thank you for all the videos and free sheet music and the games. As someone who  lacks rhythm, it totally helps me out.

Hmm..I would have to say:

1.) it keeps me going

2.) it feels like "home".

There is almost always enough going on around here to keep both playing and the interest in the instrument high.  It is a rare day here that doesn't have someone putting up a recording or video or mentioning a piece they are working on, and that just sort of naturally leads to thinking "I have to try that" and picking up the instrument and playing a while.  Or someone will say something interesting about violins/fiddles that will set me off on a websearch where I will learn some interesting and useful things.

Even from the first rather dreadful sounding bit I ever recorded and put up on the forum, I got advice and encouragement, as most people here who put things up do.  That is sort of rare.  Not just on the Internet, but even just among groups of musicians, the degree of shared support and encouragement one sees here are a rare commodity in the world.

It is just a very good place that FM has going here.  And I have been in enough "not so good" places to recognize that.  If you haven't ever run into groups of fellow musicians that tend to be unpleasant and are far worse examples, then I sincerely hope that the world will be kind enough that you never do.  But I can tell you, this place is special and unusually good.

I like the fact that we have so many passionate, oddballs here!

some are more passionate than others, while others are more oddball,

laugh, next poll should be:

"under which category do you think you belong?" dunno

and

"under which category do your FM friends think you fit?" dazed

I am amazed at how old people of my age are.....

What everyone else said...and then some.exactly

At first, I was just happy to find other adults who are learning to play, then as I became more obsessed with the violin, I realized that others are, too, which is both fun and comforting.

I appreciate all the great content on this site and Fiddlerman's expertise. But most of all I enjoy connecting with folks in the forum and the chat room. We've had some nice chats about violin stuff and non-violin stuff. Everyone is so friendly and supportive.

 cheerscoffee

(You can tell I love the smilies, too.)

The site :

Games,

Notes,

Video instructions!!!!!

and plenty of useful tools: FM's metromome is epic! I learn "Elves dance" recently and while i play it i use a metronome but because of the saturation of the music i can't define the regular sound of the metronome behind that, and FiddlerMan's has SOUND 5 - the floor is vibrating thumbs-up

The forum:

People,

Attitude,

Atmosphere!

Thanks to FiddlerMan we have here everything to play, have fun, learn and improve!!heart

Now I've learned something today! I use the metronome too but I never realized you could pick different sounds. I love it! Btw, when I first read your post, I thought you learned "Elvis Dance" and I was wondering why you would need a metronome for that. blink

I love Fiddlerman.com because it is full of great people (all the cool people I've met in the Chatrooms and Forums),  great instructors (that means you Pierre), and the integrity and loyalty of those who help each other out (those that helped Keith out.)  It is not everyday you stumble on a place, especially on the internet, that makes ya feel like you belong.
