This gentleman, Eric is the Second chair of our group. Extremely talented, this is a video of the solo he will be perform.
So my Mom and I arrived at noon, got registered and settled in to our practice room and readied ourselves for practice. We were introduced to a gentleman from Colorado Springs Co. who composed and arranged two of the pieces we were playing. Also a local team the gentleman who composed and his partner who arranged one of the pieces. They were young and the tempo indicated "in the style of coldplay". lol.
The concertmistress is a member of Disneys wedding performers, and is very talented. I sat in row 2 as far to the end as I could get. Im the least experienced member. We practiced, took a break, practiced some more, had dinner, practiced even more. Finished at 8pm and drove the hour home. It was so much fun! I participated in my first ever sectional meeting. They were so nice, told me what the bowing rules were, that I should lower notes that I couldnt play an octave so I could play. Basically, not allowed to just sit and stare or admire the other performers and theyd figure a way to keep me busy.
Im recording the concertmistresses solo tommorow, she just stood up during the song which threw me off, so I watched and she just wailed and jammed her solo, I was gobsmacked. So passionate, I thought it was great. And to be that close. I had a wow moment.
Anyways, pretty tired now- Pfish.

Well, I survived the 2 hour concert. I learned alot and had a chance to sit down with three of the talented violinists and do a off the cuff, unrehearsed Q & A with them. I asked them their background and Q's about their equipment as well as letting them play so I could see their technique in action. I will be posting those videos I took of them so you guys can see and maybe form an opinion or have a current predisposition challenged. who knows, but these guys and gal were super talented and extremely nice, personable to talk to. All in all, it was an Awesome experience and the same group gets back together in April in St Petersburg Fl. I will be there, in the meantime, I gots some practicing to do. Pfish.
