Just HAD to share this. (lol)
Classical music on a 5-string made me SO VERY HAPPY, but what's blowing my mind... is it wood with dark silver mica in shellac/varnish, or covered with metal leaf?
Well, either way, Christophe Bordas is my new 5-string HERO - performing a little J.S. Bach!
The last video:
Played in the low register of a 5 strings violin, the tone of this piece is not B minor , but E minor, just as if it had been played on a viola with the violin fingering.
I have found out the violin was made by Yves-Antoine Gachet, in Mirecourt, France - saw inside his workshop so, I'm now absolutely positive this 5-string Violin is NOT metal or Carbon Composite!
...don't think he's plugged in for these 2 videos, guess I have some questions to ask. (lol)
