...actually Concerto grosso in G minor, Op. 6, No. 8

In the film Master & Commander, the two main characters play the adagio from this Corelli piece that is arranged for just a violin and cello.  However, every performance of it that I have seen except in the film in question has been for larger ensembles.

Has anyone ever come across sheet music for the adagio that is arranged similar to that in the movie?  It's a beautiful arrangement and performance, and I would like to learn to play it some day.

Here is how it actually sounds in the film:

Never mind maneuvers, just go straight at them.

Is this what you're looking for? Corelli complete score. Lots of free, public domain sheet music at the Petrucci Music Library.

I've started a web page on my blog that lists many, many free internet resources for music in many formats - if you have other links, please drop me a note and I'll add them to the page.

No exactly Cat, but thank you for responding.  That arrangement is for nine instruments.  I was looking for a simplified version that is only arranged for two.  I used Master & Commander as an example because in that film the main characters play the score with just a violin and a cello.

@LyleA -

You haven't logged in for ages, but did you ever find a version you were happy with?

This might help others. 😊
