@elcbk and all

Peter Cooper recorded this with a group called Rattle on the Stovepipe, but I cant find it on youtube.  This is just as nice.  The Old Virgina version seema to be cross tuned DDad maybe?

try this one out.. fiddle comes in..give it time

Heres a live version of the Peter Cooper take

How come you aren't listing Coleman's March · Martin Hayes & Dennis Cahill ?  Very nice slow version.

🤔... how many more tunes from Fiddlers about to be hung?  🤭

So, have another tune for you, besides your Hangmans Reel with Story by Aly Bain thread.

"McPherson's Rant" (aka. McPherson's Lament, or Farewell).

...similar story.

🤔 Looks like Martin took our North American tune and made it his own, like many Old Time Fiddlers did with Irish & Scottish tunes.

Interesting to note, the Traditional Tune Archive has 3 versions of Coleman's March (1), also a Coleman's March (2) - aka. "The Bonnie Blue Flag", and a Coleman's March (3) - all Old Time!

LOVE the stories, thanks for posting the great tunes! 😊
