Old Salt just recently grabbed my attention!  The band members are about as international as it gets, but their music is described as:  

...original and traditional roots music, blending Appalachian and Northeastern U.S. folk with European melodies and Balkan-inspired rhythms.  

First, I heard 'Rain & Snow'!  Dan Wall rethought the old 'Cold Rain and Snow' & came up with new musical elements & new lyrics (more about it in the video description).  VERY satisfying!
