@ABitRusty -
I suppose this version of "Sally in the Garden" (Dmin) is pretty snazzy. It's a little more my speed - starts slow, then picks up here.
So, is this a West Tennessee Old Time tune... about East Kentucky?
Lyrics, but is this missing a chorus?

Is this the chorus w/other info, sheet music variations here?

There already exists an "Old Time" thread, but not really what the title implied (still good & funny).
Care to help revive this topic?

@mouse ..see what you think about this one. You dont have to play the drones or 4th finger unisons. Really fun once you get it and its not too notey but still melodic.
This is a good version to play along with although she is playing a 5 string and goes lower than you can on fiddle in the opening so dont let that throw yah...

Love Elk River Blues - must learn it!
@Mouse -
This is an Old Time tune, but sounds Scottish - can be played slow, like a lament.
"Cold Frosty Morning" - on a Cello, that's strung like a violin!
Played by Daniel Holloway at his "Online Cello Lessons" YouTube Channel.
Also, fiddle sheet music & much discussion at http://www.thesession.org
...not many more Cold Frosty Mornings!

Just realized that this thread is a perfect reason to back up my belief that
ALL Violins, Violas AND Cellos should have
5 strings!
...in case you're in the market for a new instrument,
splurge, and walk a little on the wild side! 🤗
...and while you're getting a little wild & crazy,
maybe give Carbon Fiber/Composite a thought!
...playin' in the snow, er rain... for New Year's!
